Cali Ameglio
Carlos Ameglio was once a jazz drummer and at 21 he founded his first production company.
A prestigious advertising director, Ameglio was jury of many festivals and awarded at Cannes, New York Festivals, Clio, Fiap, San Sebastián and London International Awards. Twice “Best director” by El Ojo de Iberoamérica, he was honoured at New York’s AdAge Awards and topped the “best of 2005” according to Saatchi & Saatchi London.
Ameglio directed three short films awarded in different international film festivals: La fruta en el fondo del tazón, Los últimos Vermicelli, and El hombre de Walter.
His directorial debut, the film La cáscara (The Rind, 2007), participated in a number of film festivals (including Shanghai, Cairo, Bogota, Flanders-Ghent, Pune, Kerala and Mumbai, among others). In 2007, the film won Best Cinematography Award at the New York International Film Festival Award and Critic’s Choice Award, at Bogota Film Festival. In 2008 the feature received the award for Best film in both Leipzig (Germany) and AFIA (Denmark) film festivals.
